On the occasion of our thirty years we have embraced the idea of bringing the contemporary art exhibition "No time to die" by Danilo Sciorilli curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, promoted and supported by R&P Contemporary Art Società Benefit.
The artworks will be exhibited on 22, 23 and 24 June 2022 during the fair taking place in halls 29 and 30 of the Bologna exhibition center.
The artist, integrating himself with the fair context, proposes three different solutions of immortality to the operators of the funeral industry. Professionals will be able to make partnerships with the artist to sell his services to their customers.
The curator explains: "Immortality, as an attempt to immobilize time, is the reverse of time itself, given by the human awareness of its flow. To stop it, humanity has from time to time created cultural devices such as poetry, 'art, philosophy, linguistic mechanisms not only of understanding the world, but of Immortality. [...]".
With the artwork "Go over like a lead balloon", the artist presents the immortality of image and memory through the possibility of being immortalized and thus entering forever within a conceptually infinite video-installation; he offers the immortality of the body through the pouring of "Ambrosia", a drink produced by him; he finally promises the possibility of achieving the immortality of the spirit with the work "A Boundless Drop", a mysterious object created specifically to allow ascension at the moment of the end.
The exhibition is closed by "Immortality - super sale", a three-channel video installation which, after presenting the services for the funeral rite of the sponsoring companies, reveal the importance of purchasing products, and "'Cause all we got is here to lose" site-specific installation that attempts to tell the moment of death.
The exhibition is promoted and supported by R&P Contemporary Art Società Benefit, in collaboration with Il Rumore del Lutto and supported by Made In Box and Croce Verde Reggio Emilia.
