Pema is a company from Val Gardena (Italy) that combines artisanal tradition with a spirit of innovation.
Established in 1969 by Peter Mahlknecht and his wife Gertrud, it was founded with the desire to transform ideas and talent into high-quality creations. Over the years, the couple dedicated their lives to producing statues and sacred objects. In 2020 they expanded their production with finely crafted cremation urns.
All wooden sculptures are designed and completed in the company’s workshops.
These works stand out for the gentle, delicate expressions of their faces and for their expressive power, which makes them appear almost lifelike. The use of carefully selected mountain wood and hand-painting completes a process that remains deeply rooted in tradition, while evolving through new ideas and techniques.
Pema has been exhibiting at Tanexpo for many editions, a constant presence that reflects the company’s solidity. This year, too, they will return to present their creations, once again bringing the quality of artisanal tradition to the leading international event of the sector.
